IWEE Foundation: Empowering, Connecting and Elevating Women in Entrepreneurship and Culture
At Stichting IWEE, we believe in a society where women and girls have equal opportunities to develop their potential, utilize their talents, and make meaningful contributions to society. Gender equality, empowerment, and economic independence are at the heart of our mission. We are committed to strengthening the position of women in both the business sector and the arts and culture sector, where talent and creativity still often face structural inequalities and barriers.
Our mission focuses on female leadership, empowerment, and social participation. Through coaching, mentoring, training programs, knowledge exchange, and international collaboration, we support women in developing their professional careers, entrepreneurial ambitions, and personal growth. We create networks and communities where women can inspire, support, and empower one another.
Arts and culture form an integral part of our work. We see creativity as a powerful tool for making stories visible, addressing social issues, and building bridges between people and cultures. Art creates space for dialogue, awareness, and change, contributing to a more inclusive society where diversity is valued and celebrated.
In addition to promoting talent development and entrepreneurship, Stichting IWEE actively advocates for safe and inclusive learning and working environments for women and girls. Within the arts, culture, and creative industries, we pay particular attention to social safety, discrimination, harassment, abuse of power, and other forms of inappropriate behavior. We support initiatives that contribute to safe spaces where women and girls can develop, learn, and thrive without barriers.
This commitment has also inspired our activities related to the international #MeToo movement. Through projects, events, training programs, and awareness campaigns, we contribute to raising awareness about sexual harassment, gender-based violence, intimidation, and other forms of unacceptable behavior. We believe that true equality can only be achieved when women are able to live, work, create, and participate in society safely and freely.
The prevention of violence against women and girls therefore forms an important pillar of our social mission. We support initiatives focused on prevention, education, awareness-raising, resilience-building, and the promotion of women’s independence and self-determination. Through knowledge sharing, partnerships, and public dialogue, we contribute to a world where women are no longer limited by violence, discrimination, or inequality.
An inspiring example of our international work is the International Bridge in Art & Diversity project. Through this initiative, we bring together artists, creative professionals, cultural institutions, and civil society organizations from different countries. By fostering artistic collaboration and cultural exchange, the project creates meaningful encounters, new partnerships, and valuable conversations around diversity, inclusion, women’s rights, and social change.
Stichting IWEE is based in the Netherlands and operates with a strong international perspective. Through our collaboration with Unique & Collective, we build bridges between professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, and civil society organizations in the Netherlands and Türkiye. These partnerships create opportunities for cultural exchange, professional development, collaborative projects, and international knowledge sharing.
We believe that sustainable change begins with connection, awareness, and collaboration. Therefore, we continue to invest in initiatives that promote gender equality, female leadership, social safety, empowerment, and the full participation of women and girls in society.
If you would like to learn more about our projects, activities, or international partnerships, we warmly invite you to contact us and explore how we can work together to create a society where women and girls can participate safely, visibly, equally, and confidently in every aspect of social, cultural, and economic life.
At Stichting IWEE, we believe in the transformative power of art, culture, education, and collaboration to address societal challenges, foster inclusion, and build bridges across communities and cultures. As demonstrated through our International Bridge in Art & Diversity project, meaningful change begins when people connect, create, and grow together.
